Our Location
London Helicopters, Inc. is located at the Naples Municipal Airport in the
city of Naples, Florida. It is conveniently located along the Gulf of
Mexico, South of Fort Myers Beach and north of Marco Island. Accessibility
to the Naples area is provided through Southwest International Airport in
Fort Myers which is approximately 40 miles by car.
Visas
London Aviation is approved by INS and can provide M 1 visas for foreign
students who enroll on any flying course. Please note that the procedure
can take up to 4 weeks and includes at interview at your local U.S
Embassy.
Pilots desiring to do flight hour building, sightseeing trips, or
conversions can enter the U.S. on a visitor’s visa.
Lodgings
London Aviation has an agreement with a local hotel and gets special rates
for its pilots.
During the High season (January to April) the rate is $ 55.00 per night,
plus Florida State sales tax (9%) for a Twin room which can accommodate 2
students comfortably.
In the low season the rate drops to $ 35.00 per night, plus Florida State
sales tax (9%).
Breakfast is included. The rooms are large and comfortable, with private
bathroom, microwave refrigerator, and of course TV.
The hotel offers a quiet setting and atmosphere in which to study or
relax. It is within bicycling distance of the airport.
Transport
Car rental in the USA is much cheaper than in Europe but often limited to
people over 25 years of age.
Please note that speed limits are strictly enforced in the USA.
Younger students tend to rent bicycles, as the hotel is quite close to the
airport.
Getting from Miami to Naples
Rental car is the best way, and the drive is quite easy. It is
approximately 2 hours and takes you across the beautiful Everglades
National Park. It is the most effective way to get to Naples.
Greyhound Bus also provides
service from Miami to Naples.
Alternatively, we can pick you up in one of the school’s airplanes and you
can start your training on the way to Naples. However, please note you will
have to pay for the round trip rental.
Other U.S. port of entries to consider are Fort Myers (RSW),Tampa (TPA)
and Orlando (MCO).
